As a writer and literature enthusiast, Joan uniquely brings this to her work in a creative and rich way. When working with clients, she is able to sit with each person in his/her journey with an open mind, without judgment. This frees her to listen to the client's story with compassion. Often using narrative therapy, she is able to bring her own love of writing and the arts into the room and walk with the client as he or she finds their own symbols, metaphors, and images which are either blocking or opening the path to rewrite their story. Empowering each client to take on new challenges of the imagination and self - no longer trapped in the old story line - is a gift she brings to her clients.
