Meet Megan Relson MS, LPCC

Starting a therapeutic relationship can feel overwhelming. You may wonder, where do I begin? Can I really open up about the things closest to my heart and mind? My commitment is to meet you exactly where you are. I offer a collaborative and holistic approach to therapy—one that honors your whole self: mind, body, and spirit. I believe your identity, life experiences, and environment all shape your wellbeing and your path forward.
I aim to provide a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for individuals age 11 and up, regardless of background or ability. Together, we will explore areas where you may feel stuck, confused, or overwhelmed—so you can move toward a sense of integration, meaning, and connection, whatever that looks like for you. I specialize in supporting adolescents, college students, educators, parents and general adults through life’s significant transitions—school and career shifts, relationships, infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. My clinical areas of focus include grief and loss, anxiety, depression (including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), identity development and chronic health diagnoses including autoimmune disorders. I have obtained training in several evidence-based therapy modalities, including but not limited to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am currently pursuing an advanced Perinatal Mental Health Certification through Postpartum Support International (PSI) as well as additional training in Pain Reprocessing Theory. With over a decade of experience supporting equity-deserving communities in the Twin Cities Metro area—including 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC youth and families—I bring a deep commitment to culturally responsive care and I want you to hold me to that! I hold a master’s degree in school counseling from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and completed my clinical licensure training at the University of Saint Thomas. I am licensed in Minnesota as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and in Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I am currently in the process of obtaining licensure through the national counseling compact to practice with my clients who travel outside of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Outside of work, I am a proud mom to both human and fur babies. I find joy in community activism, cross-country skiing, running, ceramics, traveling, practicing my Spanish and exploring new foods. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey. Insurance & Payment I am in-network with the following providers: Bind, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, HealthPartners, Hennepin Health, Medical Assistance (MA), Medica, UCare, UMR, and United Healthcare. I also accept private pay and health savings accounts. If cost is a barrier to therapy please feel free to connect with me directly about a sliding fee scale and pro bono options. I am committed to offering affordable spaces for individuals and families in my schedule, especially those from diverse backgrounds, historically marginalized communities or in the infertility, perinatal or postpartum space. |
