When you walk into my office you will find a safe and inviting space to discover your own truth, work through the process of overcoming pain and trauma from the past, and learn to live a healthier life.
I work with adults in who are experiencing a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, or life transitions. I bring years of experience and training in issues and concerns specific to those who identify as LGBTQ+ learning to become their authentic selves in areas of sexuality or gender identity.
Throughout my life I have been passionate about helping others but my journey to become a therapist was not a direct one. I started my career working in education teaching kids in an underserved school district. My path then shifted into theology and spirituality which later broadened to include advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. Throughout my life I’ve found healing through the natural world spending time backpacking and rock climbing. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, training shelter dogs, and working with horses.
These experiences and more ultimately culminated into becoming a clinical counselor where I can bring experiences from many different realms to help people discover their own truth and strength. I received a Masters degree in Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Equine Assisted Mental Health. I am trained in Narrative therapy techniques, CBT, and EMDR. Currently I am working towards my Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) licensure and work under the supervision of Joan Hause, MA, LPCC.
After years of hearing people's stories of pain and resilience I have developed a belief that we cannot truly move forward if attention and care is not given to the pain of our past. For some this pain began in childhood and for others later in life. Using a holistic approach we will incorporate the mind, body, and spirit to create healthier patterns and lessen the effects of trauma, anxiety, or depression. Through our work together you can create a healthy and peaceful life filled with joy, passion, and purpose.
Contact me today and we can begin this journey together.
