I love to work with "creatives" of all types--writers, artists, musicians, actors, website designers, programmers, graphic designers, gardeners, bakers, thinkers, spiritual questers, readers, poets, entrepreneurs, teachers, therapists, students, bloggers, learners. I help people to unlock creativity, overcome procrastination and find a work/creative life balance. I specialize in helping people who have depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transition. I have specific skills and strategies I use to help people lower depression and anxiety. Some of these tools can involve thinking strategies, life movement, behavioral activation. I also work with the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. I work with diverse age, gender, spiritual, racial and other diversities. I work collaboratively with clients in order to help them find their truth, their path, their way. I love to meet new people and learn about their lives, their stories. I am a counselor, writer, teacher and supervisor. I have two master's degrees--an MA in Counseling Psychology and the other is a MFA in Writing. As a writer, I have written a memoir, essays, blog pieces and am currently working on a book of poems. I bring my writing and creative background to my work as a therapist. I do traditional "talk" therapy, and also for those who are interested I use creative techniques such as writing, art and poetry therapy. Insurance I can take: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Health EZ, Hennepin Health, Health Partners, Medicaid (MA), Preferred One, UCare. Also I can take: Private Pay and Health Savings Accounts.
